Glasgow Richmond MBC Show Dates 2015
« on: March 23, 2015, 11:26:48 am »

Hello all,

Just a note for you regarding GRMBC's show dates for the year:-

Sunday 3rd May - Start of Season show. An open day show with sailing for everyone, members and visitors. We will have the harbour in the water and have a static display by the pond side. Drinks and snacks will be available.

Sunday 14th June - our annual Tug Towing event. Again the harbour will out and a course set up for both single and double tow competitions. This event normally attracts many competitors from south of the border so we hope to see you all again this year, and anyone else interested in tugs and the intricacies of towing is more than welcome to come along. Drinks and snacks will be available.

Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July - the National Warship Weekend. GRMBC is once again delighted to be hosting this event on behalf of the Scottish Model Warship Association. This is the biggest event for model warships in the UK and attracts visitors from Europe and beyond. Everything grey or camouflaged welcome. Static displays by various clubs and non-stop on the water activity with the warship manoeuvre competition on Sunday. From a three ship team and show how good you are at staying in formation. Drinks and snacks will be available.

Sunday 6th September - our End of Season show. Another open event for anyone who would like to come along and sail and enjoy our company. Drinks and snacks will be available.

We hope to see folk there.

Throughout the year the GRMBC is also always delighted to receive visitors from other clubs if you are in the area, and new members are most welcome.

GRMBC Start of Season Show

Our Start of Season show is on Sunday 3rd May.

Anyone and everyone is invited so hopefully see you many of you there.

There was some tug towing practice last Sunday at the club and an escort was provided.

Club competitions will also be held on the day for Club500's, Wee Nips, Fast Electrics and some steering and docking action.

All the best

Well, after weeks of nice weather, very warm at times, but almost universally dry.... today was the exception.

It rained, and rained ... and rained.

But !!!

We had a great day. The boats sailed on throughout, although memo to self, an open boat in heavy rain means lots of syringing.

Many thanks to all the club's members who came out and helped set up, sail, spend money in the kitchen, and put away at the end.

And to the visitors who came and new members who joined ... we must have been doing something right.

Our next event is the Tug Towing Day, Sunday 14th June

A prospective course was discussed today....you may need to bring lots of motor and big batteries.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there, our regular (and trophy winning) friends from the south, and all our local tuggers.
