I always enjoyed watching Robot Wars, even though I wouldn't/couldn't build a fighting robot.
I think most of us enjoy seeing things get bashed. It should be fun to watch others competing, with or without a cup of tea in hand.

How about

Springer tug with fire monitor on the front and a water container on the rear?
Challenge is to fill you opponents containers while avoiding getting you own filled.

Winner is the one with the least water in their container.

Obviously the container would have to be a regulation size

I AM TRYING TO DO SPRINGER JOUSTING!! But I cannot figure a way to keep a shield on and the joust without it breaking all the time Ideas??? it should fit a springer tug!

Another idea is a pin on the front of CLUB 500 AND A balloon on the back...any takers?

Any ideas for the yacht guys other than racing round a set course???

I'm also looking for a tug to tow around a tub of chocolates any takers for that one.

I also think we should resurrect the HAWIAN SHIRT!!!! or STAVROS in a dress!

The rules have been set.

build rules

Standard size for springers,
Standard motor/battery rudder and prop rules apply……..
The sides of the springer can be no thicker than 2.5mm thick.
Top and bottom balsa stiffeners maybe added to a max 10mm x 10mm
Front and rear bulkheads can be upto 6mm thick balsa.
Deck and bottom of springer upto 6mm balsa or ply.
Above decks your choice
NO FIBRE GLASS, CARBON FIBRE OR ANY TYPE OF REINFORCEMENT ALLOWED ON THE SIDES OF THE SPRINGER.IT CAN BE SEALED AND PAINTED ONLY.

Weapons
No explosives, projectile of flammable gases or liquids OR PROJECTILES ALLOWED.
If you have a weapon that you are not sure of please PM Klunk for further info.
Rules are based on car demolition derby.
Be sensible. Be safe.

Guys

This was discussed at great length by the organising committee and it was decided that it was the best simple idea that didn't need any extra equipment to participate with. The whole "battle" would only last 20minutes maximum with 10minute tidy up, they will be in a separate area away from the main display area so no non competing vessel can get involved or any competing vessel to leave the battle zone. This is just a small part of the weekend and there will be plenty of other serious events such as the warship display to commemorate Jutland and WW1 era ships.

Please, please come to the weekend, even if you don't participate in the battle, as the following weekend I'll be flying out again to this hot and dry miserable place for 12 weeks, 12 hour shifts again!!! I will be fighting my own management to get 2017 off because they say I'll be going out again over the time covering Mayhem weekend and I want to see all my good Mayhem friends again just incase.

As per usual on Mayhem, things just get totally out of hand and ends up a fiasco!!!

Its perfectly simple! if you don't want to take part in this spectacle, then don`t!
I`m sorry, but members shouldn't rubbish something just because they think its not for them. For goodness sake, let those who DO want to take part in this event, go ahead and do it.
I`m sure those taking part will thoroughly enjoy themselves and the public too, no doubt

Operating principle

the spring 1 prevents accidental contact.
This spring attached to the target 2 is at + battery.
The target 2 is a metal plate.
When the lance of the opponent hits the target it can be stuck on the magnet 3 and is glued.
Electricity passes.
The LED lights up.
The buzzer makes its noise

the candidate is eliminated

There is no possible contestatipon and no waste

People are just making suggestions for other events that could be held at some point. No one has mentioned that any of these should replace your event
