only saw him ride a couple of times, always seemed to be part of the machine rather than perched upon it.
The whole world has changed since his time hasn't it. Remember going to a meeting in Belgium, Mettet I think, only thing between us and the riders was a length of more string than rope nailed to the tops of some 2 x 2 sticks. Public roads part of which was an offset cross roads so they were at this point heading towards each other then both turning left, another bit of string as the divider, but I think they had a couple of Castrol flags on that!!! Ahh another world. R I P Geoff.
