I will be working on model slipways the Yorkshireman in reading up on the model I see it has a tube for a bow thruster is it needed if so are there some better than others will it need its own motor control.

My Yorkshireman has a bow thruster fitted, mine is the Robbe type, 380 motor 6 volt. I think a better one is the Raboesh?? make, come in different outlet sizes. My motors are on 12 volt so a seond 6v battery is fitted with a third ESC, the manuvering is superb with the bow thruster, but is very good with just the main motors, worth fitting if just for show at the lakeside.

With independent rudders and ESCs you should indeed get very good maneuvering abilities.

I'm not sure Robbe still offers their bow thrusters. Raboesch is widely available on the other hand.
