Another Svitzer Maltby
« on: May 21, 2015, 05:12:58 pm »

I have started my build of the Maltby, at first it was going to be the Marken but having seen that the Maltby had a spell at Liverpool the name was changed, the first job I had ago at was to make a bowthruster which is fitted out with a 380 motor driving a 3 blade brass prop which is now fitted into the hull along with the propshafts and 70mm korts. Power wise I am fitting two 900s so should be enough power.....I hope.... photos so far.

Regards Dave.

Hi all, nothing more done on my build due to my leg problem, I go to see the surgeon on the 3rd Aug so hopefully I will get a date for when its going to be amputated and then start on the long road to recovery and then get back to sailing and this build.

Regards Dave.

Hi Dave,
Sorry to hear about your leg problems hope all goes well. Due to a Parachuting accident in the army my right leg is now 2 inches shorter than the left but thankfully its ok ish! Keep the photos coming I want to follow the build as I am just starting a Norton Cross.
      Cheers,
          Faz. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

All the best Dave, my Maltby hasn't progressed much, this summer, been to busy. Also I have a completed Northsider, so I am not exactly tug less, if I didn't have a runner I might be more inclined to burn midnight oil. Anyway all the best keep posting.

A bit more done on the wheelhouse, as you can see it's starting to take shape .......needs a bit more sanding to get the finish I want.
