I managed to get her at the lake for trials.....and no ice in the lake which was good, I have to say I was very happy with her overall performance and it towed great. The only thing was she needed a lot more ballast but that can soon be sorted..... I can now crack on with the rest and get it finished. Some photo's taken by a fellow member.

Regards Dave.

Thanks Ray, She has plenty of power so towing was no problem at all so now I can crack on with getting it finished.

Hi Adam, It's great to be back working on my boats as it's been a long hard 14 months since I hade my leg amputated and still a long way to go. The Maltby is getting there slowly as for my MMB Asd I still have that to continue with as soon as I can, I shall continue with the build long as soon as I get going again on her. Good to hear from you mate so take care.

Regards Dave

Hi Adam, the only ballast in her so far is two 12v 7ah batteries but I plan on putting in another as there is plenty of room, I will also need to place some ballast in the stern in order to get her down a bit more, I am trying to use as many batteries as I can as these can be put in place once she has been put in the water and therefore keep it as light as possible for carrying. Hope this helps. :-)) :-)) :-))

Hi Dave
I was interested in your Maltby build and obviously living near the Mersey you've managed to see the full size tug in action. Did you use the Tyne Models hull for your build?
