Guys.......as offered ...the build of the MCMV HMS Quorn is absolutely 1st Class.... :-))

However despite technical mis or miss understood quotations by anybody's DINGBAT proof reader.....

A recompression chamber saves lives.........don't be fooled by fools.......put a diver with the bends/bendz in a chamber & decompress or lower the pressure within the chamber & you will have blood on your hands

Simple....... Derek

Hi All,
It's still very slow going, but just made the bunker hose racks. The first picture is as per the Drawing. The second pictures are the correct version, based on actual pictures.
If I'd looked at the pictures I have first , I'd would only have had to make two, not three  <:(

Well, at least you spotted it before any rivet counters clambered aboard.

That's a fiddly little thing to make but will no doubt enhance the overall look of your model. :-))

Ray.

If nothing else it gave you something to warm your soldering skills up on. A simple join would have been less effort, but by making it you will have got the idea of the shape making the second and third ones quicker to make.

Lovely job  :-))

Thanks, guys
Making things twice can be a part of our hobby, however at this time  I could do with out having to make items twice as I've very limited free time at point. {:-{

After looking at my library of Hunt photos. I Notice the Sonar dish, which is stored on the bridge front, was different to the drawings. The actual dish is not a dome shape as shown on the drawing ,but more like the dome has had its side squared off.(see attached photo)

So I decided the best way to make it was to cut the round base from 2 mm plastic card, then cut the cross section shape from 10 thou card. This was then attached to the base and filed using P38 filler, then i sanded it to the correct shape.

There is nothing better than photos for reference. Sounds bleeding obvious I know, but I remember ages back when books had poorer photos, the plans were often better to work from, but these days with better books and the internet you are spoilt for detail to work from.

Have you found that if you take reference photos yourself, you always wish you had one from another angle because you cannot make out a detail on something?

Well, you certainly have an eye for detail Dave. Those wipers are a pig to make but you seem to have carried the job off ok. :-)

Update, its been slow going doing all the fine detailing, I've just completed the Tiger tail , Bridge roof aerials, bridge jib and the Mezzanine deck aerial, which I've made foldable as per the actual, as this will help when transporting the model.

Next will be the generator air intakes, which I've been avoiding ever since I completed the main mast and generator housing.  {:-{ Some bits will not go away.

I'm asking because I like them, are you planning to fit Miniguns?

That is an astounding model you are working on.

Hi Ian,

First thanks for your feed back it is appreciated , as this model seems to be taking so long to complete.

Yes I,m in the process of making a better master, as the one I made for HMS Clyde gun barrels were a bit heavy.

I saw them mounted on an MCMV tied up in Poole a few years back and was amazed at how small they are, but by gosh they do put some rounds out!
