Twin ESC Issue
« on: June 03, 2015, 07:07:39 pm »

Bit of a weired one.

I've set up the two esc on futaba f16 tx under v-tail mixing.

The problem is, I now only had 50% power at max and one prop only started up at about 1/4 thottle. one esc was hot. the esc's are Mtronics eco 27 and will work fine if not mixed.
Any ideas why this happened.

Thanks

When they are connected up to the esc for vtail mixing have you dissconected one of the red wires on the esc's if not there lies your problem of the esc getting hot.....not have you gone through all the perametters in the radio set and returned them all to zero as this can have a dramatic effect on the performance. Gteed someone will come along and explain it better or suggest something else....usually happens !!!!!

Cheers Stavros, yep i've cut the red cable on one of the escs(made that mistake before lol and lost a nice receiver).

the radio been zero'd. i'm not 100% sure if the esc that is hot is the one runing of the one that not cutting in. I know when i took the sub apart one of the esc was buzzing as if it wasn't central, but at the start of the run they were central and not buzzing.

Just tried using servo instead of esc's and it works as expect, but with the esc's plugged in. the issue above happens ?????

What if you plug each ESC right in the RX  (in turn) ?

Did you calibrate the ESCs ?

Doesn't some 'V tail' mixing / mixers' only give you certain percentages by default?
What does the manual say? (page 71)

I've got the new version which has been redone for boat/trucks.

set it to 100% and redone the programing on the esc's but same. think i just have to go back to the old fashion y lead
