Modern Aluminium Landing Craft profile?
« on: June 11, 2015, 08:49:19 am »

Hi Guys,

I fancy having a go at scratch building a fun project and rather like the idea of the Jet powered aluminium landing craft:

They seem to normally be built by small companies in low numbers to order and worked hard, as such I haven't been able to find much online about the shape of the hull.
The rest of it is a pretty simple shape and can be worked out quite easily but does anyone, ideally, have any plans for a similar craft or any ideas where I might find decent pics of the shape of the hulls?

Many thanks,

Alex

I would think the hull bottom would be completely flat, no v, no rocker, no tunnels.  It is probably about 3:1 length to beam ration, the hull sides are flared out a bit, and a simple angled ramp on the front.  Not much freeboard either.

The hull shape is probably very similar to that of an airboat, they are even designed for similar purposes ( fast speeds, shallow water), just with different propulsion systms.
