i cannot find any reference to this ready built model here on the forum, so I thought I might add my attempt at modifying one.
Howes Models seem to have a few left at around £160 ish, just add your own Tx and Rx, and the 7.2v NiMH battery pack.
The ESC, rudder servo, 540 size motor, 3 blade metal prop and lights all included.
Out of the box I found no damaged items, very well packed for its trip across various waters.
The Hull is superb ! Glass cloth and very well made, the underside of the garish glossy deck planking the same.
I think it's around 1/20 scale, but with an oversize bit here and there.
Nicely painted, again in garish gloss.
What is it going to be ?
Well my next big build is to be the Soviet BK 1124 Bronekater (tank boat) in 1/16, this has many many rivets and weld lines showing in typical soviet fashion from WW2............ So, as a practise for that
This one will be a 'soviet armed coastal boat of the BS1 class' complete with welds, rivets and other soviet paraphernalia .
Anyone googling BS1 class will have to think sideways and think what the initials stand for.
Pics to follow the build.
Anyone considering the Bristol Bay as a Sunday morning floater, do not be put off by the foreign manufacture. . . . . It really is a nice little, well built model, though I'm told the ESC may well need changing.
