Welcome ovl.

Are you going to do a build thread?  It can be quite helpful in your build, plus we all love pictures. :-))

Dont forget that I can help too!  :-))
I will be watching with great interest since so much has been changed and we now have new instructions.
I am going to Cromer in a week or so to see what the current boat looks like (changes etc) and I want to make one of those ledder thingies that gets thrown over the side to help survivors get aboard, Jacobs ladder or something I think.
I am also off to see my new girlfriend Patsy Knight on the same day. Anybody know her?

Im about 30 mins from Saint Nazaire, that's the closest big place and I live right on the coast. I pass the shipyard every day on the way to work. I used to live in Holland near Breda..... I get around a bit :} I fancy a trip to Bruges with my OH someday, it looks really nice.     U2

@ Unsinkable:
Ok let me know  :-))

Even if I didn't start my Tamar yet, I have questions already,

On the next pictures : (I think it's called waterscooper)
The are not part of the kit, but I would like to install some for water cooling of the motors, then link the tubes to the exhaust.
Does anyone know where I can buy them?
Do I need to install a water pump also?

Thank you in advance for the info.

I did think about doing the water inlets as a casting when I first did the Tamar but decided against it for some reason. I would do them now.

I ran mine on two Emax BL4030 motors using the five bladed scimitar 55mm props supplied and it was very fast and gave good running time on a couple of 4000mAh 4 cell lipos. I recommend this set up because I know it works well but there will no doubt be better arrangements now.

The speed controllers were not cooled either and everything performed very well.

Tamar 13-25 "Kiwi" was one of the last Tamars to be built, there are plenty of photos of her that may help........... https://www.flickr.com/photos/94636740@N05/8618100947/in/album-72157633160054193/

Hi ovl
Prop shop in the UK, you can't beat their couplings, Especially for brushless motors, I have them in my lifeboat.

I think they are Emax BL4030's (just to clarify).
Have a word with John Wright at Jotika. We have discussed this and I think he can do just the couplings you are looking for. Its two aluminium parts each bonded to a length of rubber and they provide very good results and are silent in operation.

Hello,

I've started the build (finally) ;)

First problem.

according to plan I have to Attach a Brass tubing 10mm onto the hockey stick and keel, NO 10mm brass tubing to be found in the parts  >:-o
The biggest I found is 8mm, can anyone tell me if that's ok to use please?
