Hello everybody,

long time since I gave some news, but too much work, so no time to start the Tamar.
But...

I asked some info concerning those water inlets, but no answers, so... I send the pictures to 2 friends of mine in France and those guys did a wonderful job  O0 O0
Only based on the pictures I have !!!

They used 3D program Rhino and here we go

from there they made à prototype in plastic

Amazing result he  %%

then casting , they used Surgical Steel Chrome Cobalt, so It doesn't rust  ;)

I could even chose the finish, I choose the polished chrome , I know the real one isn't finished like this, but I think it looks great !!!!

I want to thanl Philippe and Jean Claude for the time and the work !!!!! I think it looks great  :-)) %% %%

I notice the couplings you have chosen, these are the same as I originally fitted to my Speedline 1/12 Seven. Very expensive. In spite of all the best alignment they are too noisy and I changed them to flexible joints as others have done. In view of the hi torque from the motors I filed flats on the shafts and removed the screws from the couplings and fitted small Alan screws where there was a better facility to tighten to avoid spinning on the shafts. I know these couplings were very expensive but throw them and fit flexible joints. I never had and problem with vibration, spinning, removal for service etc and they ran very quiet.

Any good quality metal geared servo will work fine.

What about the minimum torque?

Thanks Kimmel.

What about the minimum torque?

I had no problem at all with rudder steering, I simply picked a pair of metal geared servos from HobbyKing and had no problems.

The planing characteristics of the hull makes the model very responsive and the servos don't have to work hard at whatever speed, especially with twin props on "tank steering"

Hi everyone,
here's an update on my Tamar,

I bought the speed controllers (120A water-cooled),

The motor supports (water-cooled)

The batteries (LIHV 5000mAh 4S 65-130C)

The batterie charger

fixed the connectors (ESC /motor)

Fixed the connectors (battery/motor) XT90

Programming the ESC's

Made a platform for the motors and the ESC's (to be painted)

made a platform for the receiver, sound module etc (in the middle under plexiglass) and the batteries on the outsides

Fixed the platforms, the axles in the hull with epoxy, also the motorsupports are fixed to the platform with epoxy. Here's a picture how it looks (without the plexiglass in the middle) and with the lips buzzers connected to the batteries.

also made the rudders and fixed the servo (not finished, it's just a test)

Here's a picture of an old suitcase transformed for my transmitter, batteries, chargers connectors tools etc...

so far for now! (some of the pictures turned upside down while posting, don't know why or how to fix it, sorry)

Could anybody tell me the exact position for the exhausts? can't find nay information in the plans of speedline???

I also have pictures of the exhausts, but no mesures of where they have to be placed. It will be a guessing game  %%

This is part of the fun with Speedline models, some of us appreciate these challenges  :-))

Watch a few Youtube videos of Tamar launches, most have good shots of the transom and by drawing lines from known points, you can place items with great accuracy.

You will have the same problem siting the anchor point for the launch release catch. The components for that aren't even listed, never mind shown on the drawing.

Keep going.
