Mobile Marine Models...?
« on: June 26, 2015, 11:38:58 am »

Anyone know if Mobile Marine Models are still going? I ordered a hull from them on the 18th, received the emails saying the item had been posted, but it's hasn't got here yet. Tried calling them...first three attempts went to an answer machine, fourth and consecutive calls just give me an engaged tone. Ok, they may be busy, but on the phone for the best part of an hour?

They are still going strong Rich.
Its the Show season and they are often away
from Thurs through the weekend if they are at a show.

If they're away then you'd be better off sending an email.

Maybe they left it off the hook, either on purpose or otherwise? It happens, Uggett - don't take it personally!

Could be answer phone playing up or any manner of things. If you can't get through via phone emailing can't hurt. How long ago was the item posted? If less than a week I wouldn't worry.

Aha...I didn't know that there was a second number. Thanks Jay...called the number you gave me, two rings and a nice lady answered. Apparently the main number has a fault, which will be seen to poste haste, if not sooner.

My hull is en route via MyHermes, should be here tomorrow with a bit of luck and a following wind.

Apologies to MMM...and thanks to Jay.

Yep, all is well, Howard...I've never met either of them, but the lady who answered the phone couldn't have been more helpful, problem was sorted in two minutes.

They can't be away if the phone's engaged...can they?
It can be engaged, even if there isn't a fault. If someone else is calling and the phone is ringing then if you call you will get an engaged tone. If several people are trying hard to contact the same number and it is ringing on (no answering service) then the line can be engaged for considerable periods.
Obviously if the answering machine picks up then the line is engaged in conversation, and again if you call it will be engaged.
