I doubt very much electricity is produced anywhere in the UK from these things, not even for us southerners, whatever that means, very derogatory! The can not be used if it is too windy, the company gets paid for this. They can not be used if there is not much wind, the companies get paid for this, and when the are running and producing what little energy they do the companies get paid for this.
They are not environmentally friendly, CO2 is produced to make all of the components in the stupid things. They have ships installing them that can burn bunker oil, heavy oil or diesel fuel.
If these are the future of our energy, then start buying a lot of candles you are going to need them
