Hi Alex and welcome to the forum.

If you have a look over at the lifeboat section,  you will find all sort of model details on the Severn.  Here you will be able to start a thread of your own and progress your build along with some pictures.

The members would love to help you, so ask any questions you may have.    :-))

Cheers

Welcome to the madhouse so to sepak....right motors.........if you have been used to motors with 2 wires then they were Brushed motors and with these you can use a vast majority of speed controllers...the 3 wire motors are Brushless and thye need a diffent type of speed controller .

Have a read on the Technical section about Brushed and Brushless motors

I was into model aircraft which all had brushless 3 wire motors, decided to call it a day after destroying about 10 models and came to he conclusion that I was a fairly rubbish pilot :o.

the 3 wires are quite simple, wire them up to the 3 wires on your brushless esc, if the motor turns the wrong way, swap any 2 wires over. By using bullet connectors between the motor and esc, it makes it easy.
