Greetings from Denver, Colorado.
I just wanted to share my journey.
About 4 years ago I decided to pursue "Steam", and I chose Stationary and Marine Engines to start.
I re-configured my workshop from wood-to-metal, and acquired a Lathe and a Mill. I bought Sherline,
in the DRO configuration as I felt that I needed to feel the cutting of swarf, and get a sense of how metal
acted. I felt that CNC would distance me from that knowledge and experience.
I read every book on Model Engineering I could find (most from the UK), and made a couple of small
engines to get a feel for the process. Then last year I decided to build a boat, and then have a platform to
put various engines in. I chose the Krick Borkum as a good open hull, and a deck I could mount in.
Here are some pics of my shop.
Thanks for reading.
