From Facebook...

Hi guys, new here, wanted to show you what my father a 75 year old whos been in lockdown since the start can do. I moulded the hull for him but hes done every thing else all by hand, even the railings which are handed. Hes not in great health with numerous conditions, he just plods on a little bit at a time. There is no plans, no measurements, templates or anything. Freestyling it all the way. Was a boat builder when he was a young lad but id imagine hes not built anything for what must be 50 years! a way to go yet on the fishing boat.

Re: Photos from Facebook - Model Outboard motor collection!
« Reply #116 on: December 25, 2020, 05:45:27 am »

Found this on Facebook! -  :o :o :o

Jack Browning of Hardy, VA has outboards that fit-in-the-palm-of-your-hand, battery-powered replicas that mount on 12-inch to 18-inch runabouts, hydroplanes and cuddy-cabin cruisers. Well-known to most of the nation’s roughly 375 collectors of toy boats and outboards, Browning has more than 450 of them displayed in his home — nearly one of every design ever produced. |Thats Jimmy Woods, in my opinion, the best scale modeller, ever. Had a great afternoon sitting in his lounge talking models and enjoying his wife,s shortbread. It was his Ben ship that got me going with the Australia Star and the complexities of the Stulcken derrick, His info was appreciated. With Jimmy being a retired industrial chemist he would never use styrene as he said "its shelf live is 20years" it was always ply in various thicknesses. A true gentleman and a great loss to modelling. nemesis
