Apart from the stunning modelling, I love the story (albeit a sad one) that this dio portrays.

Model of the Akagi wreck

I came across an article today on Facebook about the build of the Akagi wreck. But there was only one photo which looked intriguing. It had a link to a plastic modeller site where the full build article is.
Hopefully Martin won't mind this link as it is a different concept to r/c modelling......

The photo's are really beautiful and its definitely an interesting read.

you just have to marvel at these people - the amount of detail that is achieved in this little kit is unbelievable and it is beyond belief the end product when its in the case. I would love to see what they would do if you gave them something like HMS Kelly from Deans Marine to make and how much detail they would achieve. Possibly lift the deck off and see the crew sleeping in hammocks. I might copy me wife and take up knitting

Boy Andrew WK 170 Well thats the first hull moulded at 1:33 scale.
Length is 33" (845mm) x 9 1/4" (230mm) beam.
This is a 2 part mould with a separate shelter deck which allows great access to the hull. Last photo shows a Hectoperm motor sitting in position.
Its a big model so if anybody wants one its going to be £90 + £20pp
