Probably too good to be true?
« on: July 21, 2015, 08:04:01 pm »

Just bought this on ebay for a very reasonable £41 with postage. I reckon it'll be good for a good laugh in the 5 minutes before (and after) the esc blows itself to smithereens, then I can fit one of those proper motors with a piston in it %)

If it turns up, great, I've got a cheap hull I can stick an .18 in and have a laugh with, if it don't turn up I'll open a case against him on ebay and get my money back. If it does turn up and all's well then I may even buy the cat he's got up for sale and stick an engine in that, too.

Happy to be guinea pig, as always :-))

Looking at the price, don't forget the duty payable on it.

If he is sending it EMS, it will be delivered by Royal Mail. On delivery, they will want to collect the 20% VAT due on the cost price + shipping and then add a cost of £13.50 for their costs in doing so

All you need now is someone to show you how to get it out of you shed and how to use it. Happy sailing

Mine never turned up!. Mid way through the delivery period (had a message saying it had been despatched) Ebay sent me an email saying that the sellers account had been hacked and that it had been suspended. It said that I needn't complete the sale, by which time , of course, it was too late.   After it didn't arrive with in the time frame given I took up a case with Ebay and I have had all my cash returned.

While I am not out of pocket, it would have been interesting to see what the boat was like

Same thing happened here, I doubt very highly the account had been hacked, just an attempted scammer. Got all my money back from paypal, just forgot to update this thread %)
