Motor pods.
« on: July 27, 2015, 02:43:29 pm »

Help please. I am attempting a mod to my 'Osberg' Longship to power it in calm conditions.
Due to the shallow nature of the hull and low freeboard there is no space within the hull for the necessary R/C stuff/prop/motor etc. I was thinking along the lines of a self-contained motor-pod which could be affixed to the exterior of the keel. Little speed is required so a low-voltage motor would be adequate.
Can anyone help with a supplier or ideas?
Thanks
Bob.

Thanks Martin, that would do nicely I think. 2.4 is a bonus also. Will order one now!
Thanks rsm for your suggestion, but I think its a bit too low-powered.(1.5v)

Arrived today and fitted. Works exactly as I required and I can recommend it for others. Once again, Mayhem works exactly as we all know it does!  :-)) :-))

I'm going to the Playmobil factory in Malta next week with my 4year old grandson, might have  to check the price and bring a unit home....if they're the right price of course.
