advice please

Got myself an F1 over the winter just rebuilding it now.Can any one give me advice what would you do as I'm new to rc boating.electric or ic got 61 merco engine water cooled or 26cc water cool 2 stroke came without canopy so had to make on its 47inchs long 20 wide surface or submerged propeller.rough guide to sizes and thoughts on rudder would help me please.if anyone knows that type it is is be greatful it wood with fiberglass on top great site thanks

Nice job on the canopy
Run surface drive with 26cc
CG approx 28-30% from the rear of hull

thanks for the advice is that 30 to 40% to centre of spark plug surface mounted prop off set rudder when it comes to F1 boats your work is second to none bud.your in Stafford where do you use your boats thanks mike  :-))

No dont setup like that
You need to mount all the hardware,radiobox,servos etc mount everything else first
measure and mark 28-30%  on hull then use a piece of dowel or even a broom handle placed crossed ways under the sponsons,place on marks on hull
then with engine,engine mounts,exhaust all fixed together place it in hull move back and fourth till it balances just on the dowel or broom handle 
Mark it then continue to install the engine in that position
You can run either offset rudder or central infront of prop will work either way just make sure the cooling inlets on the rudder are at least 15mm below the sponson bottoms
