After a couple of years absence from the scene I decided to get my enthusiasm back when a Fairwind kit became available to me.

As always a nice comfortable build BUT I cannot believe I dont remember the best way of fitting the main sail to the mast and boom.

There is the usual groove which as always is a fiddly option and I cant remember if that was the only viable option

Any Fairwind owners out there who can give me guidance / upload some photos

Ok the key issues I see with this suggestion

1. The bottom corner of the mainsail where it is scheduled to fit in the groove, does not have a hole in it - should I consider putting an eyelet there  ?

2. On my normal boats (cutters) going up the mast I use mast rings and connect them into the sail  - do you think I should consider just letting the sail edge up the mast run loose ?

Can I say thankyou to Rickles for posting the Fairwind sail info,that is just what I was looking for! I too have recently obtained an original Fairwind I think it is and am about to test sail her.Am new to Yachts I must add [from RC gliders] and love it.Thanks again.Lakesidebob.
