They're not bad ins standard form and go like stink if you swap the motor for a brushless.

Tiny little things  :o . I've no experience with these particular drives, but can I ask what you're thinking of putting them in?

I bought one but the motor / drive connection was out of alignment and I have not been able to fix it.

I've got an old hull made by MRP of the 'Gentry Eagle' which I am told is a knock off from another manufacturer (not Kehrer I think its a  Hydrafibre copy) its about a 3 footer quite light but is a beautiful shape and when I get my workshop sorted its a priority build. I would like Kehrer units Im just trawling for advice I've never seen these before.

The eBay ones are good enough but you'll notice almost all the sellers also sell replacement impellors for them... make from that what you will.

The KMB units are £36 each at the current exchange rate and, in terms of quality, are well worth paying the extra £20 each for.
I've a couple of the eBay units and have no problem with them, but if I was putting it in a model that was anything other than a "use every so often for a fun chuckabout" kind of thing then I think I'd rather spend the bit more and get the KMB's

Those things are perfect, IF you change the motor and go for a smaller boat. I use them with a 4000kv brushless helicopter motor on 2S.
They are a copy of the Graupner Mini Jet.
They just have 19 mm Impeller diameter.

If it´s the 1/30 Gentry you should go for 2x 28 mm Jets from Kehrer.

The 19 mm jets are too small.
Two of them are perfect for max. 2 kg of boat.

A friend in Australia makes larger jet units he also manufactures jet sprint hulls for them, the jet units seem to work very well too.

Hi Tom he's also on facebook hes a stand up guy and i know hes done lots of testing on these jet drives, prices last time i asked were very reasonable however shipping on hulls would be very high, drives shouldn't be too bad though.I have  a new jet sprint hull plug in the works but wont be ready for sale for a while yet. Mickies jet drives were what i was going to try with them.He does have a few videos of them running and he seems to have got them running pretty good.
by the way be sure to mention my name then i might get a discount when i order some units lol  :embarrassed: .Just tell him Mart from waverider rc boats sent you lol.

Hi guys,

Had a reply and the prices are VERY reasonable.
80 AUD for the unit and 20 AUD for shipping.
That makes it just shy of £46 all in per unit at today's exchange rate.

Certainly getting my name down for a few!

Just be mindful you may end up with a bit of import duty as well

The do look rather nice units, and its got the ideas flowing.... but I must resist lol

He shouldnt pay any import duty or VAT if price is under£40 as anything under £40 you shouldnt pay any duty unless thats changed this year anyways. If you order a few then yes you will pay import vat so be mindfull of that.
Ill keep you guys posted on my progress with the sprint hulls in case anyones interested. They will be around 650 mm long ideal for these units.I cant wait to try one out myself  :} .
