Good Morning All,

My name is Alan Perry of Brixham, Devon. I joined the Forum yesterday and this is my first post. I am an ex-Merchant Navy Chief Engineer (Steam & Motor) and I served 16 years at sea followed by 3 years in Hong Kong as a Superintendent for a well known British Company. I then became a Class Surveyor for 15 years and now, being partly retired I enjoy carrying out occasional pre-entry and damage surveys for Underwriters including repair supervision. Many of the vessels I have been recently involved in are older large wooden plank vessels including several large square riggers.

I have recently completed a Billings "Will Everard" and am now struggling a little with a Constructo "Gyoa", hence my joining this Forum. My problems with "Gyoa" will be outlined in a near future post.

I look forward to taking an active part in the Forum and if requested I would be pleased to assist with any expertise I may have.
