Sail winch drum
« on: September 20, 2015, 09:53:42 am »

Hello

Does anyone know if a smaller diameter winch drum than that comes as standard is available for a Hitec HS725BB sail winch

Thanks, but that is the same as I already have, I'd like something about half the diameter

Hi Leaky
Why do you need one half the diameter? Less torque, shorter length of pull needed, or short of space.
There may be other alternative fixes.

I need a shorter lenth of pull, I could just turn down the servo travel on the transmitter but I would prefer  a smaller drum.

Hello,

This setup will give half the travel of the winch.
A line from the winch is anchored in the Hull, in that line is a Pulley, which is attached to the sheeting for the sails.
Sorry about the poor piccy, having Pc problems !!.

John.
