I'm embarrassed to say that this space is 35 feet x 12 feet, and there isn't a square foot of empty, flat space. Things are out of hand and I really need to clean up and throw out.

At the far end is a metal lathe and on the left there are two milling machines and a tool box. Shelves full of "important stuff".  On the right is a 12 foot long bench, a metal cutting bandsaw, a Sherline lathe, a small belt/disk sander, and more junk.

Going the other way is another 8 feet of bench, a trawler in progress, a tug boat in progress, and parts for three miniature horse drawn wagons. The shelf on the very rear left has printed out plans for nearly forty small stationary and steam engines as well as a set of paddles for a Duchess of Fife, a steam winch for another project, and others I have long forgotten.

I really do need to do something with this mess.

Tom

Your workshop looks quite ordered Tom. I mean, I can see lots of floor, the lathe and mills look like you have cleaned the swarf from the beds etc sometime this decade and your storage looks like it is used rather than emptied and left just so to keep them tidy and free of stuff:O) After all, flat surfaces are for keeping stuff on, not cupboards!

I cannot get in my building sheds. They are rammed with boats. And I'm attempting to get in the loft to build. ....but I filled that up with more boats.

I build most of my stuff at work during the lunch hour and after hours. It has the big advantage that someone else sweeps up afterwards.

It's a great workshop, I just wish I had the room at home to work on bigger projects.

Cripes, all that flat space to put stuff on! Are you going to use ab area of your worktop as a fixed build board? I could see issues with needing to move the build on occasion, and planning ahead to minimise disruption to planking etc, but it is a large enough area to work around. Lovely space Tug Nut.
