Cutting my arm off.....
« on: September 06, 2015, 09:58:47 am »

Would have been infinitely better than last night. Against my wishes I had to attend a garden party held by one of SWiMBO's zumba friends.
 Being in the countryside going anywhere means a road trip, in this case the friend lived 24 miles from us, but as I had been nominated the driver! I had to pick up other friends from another village 7 miles in the opposite direction >:-o We arrived at 6.30 aft telling swimbo we weren't staying late. It started with a rain shower so I was damp Tshirt and shorts, then the wind picked up chilling me to the bone. Meanwhile swimbo and friends began to drink. 8pm another heavier shower so I was soaked, but hey everyone else had had a few to drink by now so no worries <:( I sat shivering with a bloke I had never met before while a group of 60 women hooped and hollered to zumba and line dancing music. My life had become a misery a total abject misery.

On our way home 6 hours later! >>:-( swimbo and the other two in the car fell asleep <*<   This morning I'm up at 6-45 and its still raining, she is snoring so I take the dog for a walk and get wet all over again. Now its just 11am here and the lady of the house has finally woken and her first words?

"Where's my coffee"  <*<   The things us blokes do for a quiet life.

You should always use these situations to your advantage. When the missus is asleep - pop out and buy a new boat/radios/wood etc and when she wakes up with a hangover tell how grateful you are to her agreeing last night to your purchases  :-))

“"I am" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. Could it be that "I do" is the longest sentence?”

I would if I could. But being in Spain everywhere is closed on a sunday, unless of course its actually on the tourist coastal strip, for bars, restaurants etc.

 {-) {-) {-)  I like that one - however, I've only served 42 years of my sentence, long way to go yet.... ;D

On Sunday it will be our 46th Anniversary, and despite all the popular quips I continue to find that her principle quality is that somehow she still puts up with me.  The traditional list of Anniversary Gifts starts with paper for the First, then progressively becomes more challenging with time.  It was a Sapphire ring last year!

I am really hoping that one of you can find evidence that the 46th Anniversary should involve the giving of Model Boats, especially as I am disappearing on Sunday to the Black Park Regatta  {-)

I had a little warship.  I took it to the pond.
I named it after Mrs K, of whom I was so fond.
Inviting her to launch it, the bubbly it was swung.
It missed the bow, and caught me, Awoo !
Yes, she is a blond

Excellent little ditty! Next year it is Books followed by Opical equipment for the 48th!

So, next year you can ask for a good Nautical tome followed by a Magnifying glass to read it in the following year :}
