Storing Gel Cell Batteries

I have a pair of 12V Gel cell batteries that came with my Deep Rover Kit.
I doubt they will be needed before next spring now so whats the best way to keep them in top condition?  I last charged them back in about February when I got the kit

Give them a top up every six months and they should be OK.

As Colin says, keep them topped up, I use gel cells exclusively in my models, and charge them as soon as I arrive home from sailing. A couple of my batteries are close to 10 years old and still giving good service.
