Thanks Dave....get some pictures if you can........recently watched a 3 part video of the same vessel [Zhen Hua 23 converted oil tanker - October 2014?] delivering container cranes to another British port....'Felixstowe' [42% of British container trade?]

The cranes were not lifted off, but winched ashore....very interesting.....I hope they are of a better grade of steel than has been imported into Australia for certain structural buildings....... <*<...like our WIN Stadium roof that bent & buckled & near took off like a giant sail in the breeze.... They had some delivered to Felixstowe a few weeks ago. Sorry for the quality of the picture but it as taken in the dark from a ferry.

I really would not fancy this in anything but perfect weather!

What didn't make sense was the Zhen Hua 23 [converted oil tanker] - delivered the first consignment to Felixstowe in October 2015, and then is reported as being just off the English coast  again with a next container crane shipment from China just a few weeks later?.......

Could this two weeks back to China.....loading & then back to UK waters be possible?............... Derek

It doesn't help with the possible journey time but the photo was taken mid September 2015 so they have had 6 weeks (less unloading time) to get to China  then load then come back.......................

Is there more than one converted tanker as this appears to be 25 rather than 23?

re 'how many ships'
There's 10 of them , 6 heavy lifters & 4 general cargo's ( Zhen Hua 23 is one of these)
Showing as off Rhyl at 12.00 today doing 10 knots.

I am confused. The one I photographed in Felixstowe was 25. I am understanding that the one coming into Liverpool is 23 so was 23 in Felixstowe around the same time as 25 for the 4 week return journey, as mentioned by derekwarner_decoy reply4 above, to be an issue?

Think it was Oct 2014 that 23 offloaded at Felixstowe.
She's been lurking in the Canaries a while according to Liverbudgie

I posted photos of the Felixtowe delivery in the full scale ships forum a couple weeks back if anyone wanted to check ship numbers.

If you think about it, old oil tankers do make a good heavy lift vessel when then come to the end of their useful life - if their cleaned out correctly.
