The P94 is NOW debugged
The software is ready and tested and good to go!!!!!!!!!
Wom

Thanks, Wom. Having just shelled out well over a grand on PCBs, PIC chips, relays, heatsinks and cases you can imagine how grateful I was for that simple typo....... :o
Am I safe to put clean underwear on now?
BTW P94 should be available early next month - just waiting for the heat-sink tabs............. and Footski is top of the waiting list.

OK, another update - things are going slowly at the moment but progress is being made!!!

The hull is painted and sealed withe the waterslide transfers on - however, yet again I broke one so the name on the stern is tiny ones for the ships boat - that will have to do without. I need to put in a boot topping line to hide the gap between the blue and red.

The decks are painted - this was done with Tamiya acrylic green - bit patchy in places especially on the hatch - but should look like it has seen some action. The crane is now in and seems to run OK - there are some shots of the mechanism - works quite well. Might lose the position sensing pot though - got to see how we do....

Here are some shots of the side lift - I was going to have a swinging platform, but found this video:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/check/cornwall/videonation/cornwall_seasick?size=4x3&bgc=C0C0C0&nbram=1&bbram=1
So now we have a straight lift with an extending deck - all run off two servos.

OK here is a little update  - my first Youtube video - apologies for the poor quality.

These little beasties will be controlling the side hatch and lift and the main doors - they are controlled off a contact - throw the contact one way, and they move in sequence at the preset speed to the preset position. throw it the other way and they move back to their original positions in the opposite sequence. So for example, when the contact is closed, the side hatch will open, the cargo lift rise and then the cargo platform extend. When the contact opens the cargo platform will retract, the platform descend and the side hatch close.

After a few disasters - here is the the first test run of the side hatch assembly for the Gry - some small problems to be ironed out - don't really like the border around the hatch - but it hides the uneven gap. Also the hatch needs to be curved slightly.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QU2HpEWZ2WE

It does however show the P96 servomorph in action (pardon the pun) - the whole thing is controlled off a single switch.

Thanks  for the kind words....

The engineering is not that great - there have been a lot of blunders and don't look too closely - perhaps if I had designed the mechanisms up front rather than winging it.

Some of the paint is a bit rough and the motion is not even - there are a few catch points. But at least it works.

By the way Mr Jaquet - I owe you a servo. Originally it had miniature servos but these burnt out but I had to replace them with standard servos. Time to tidy up the wiring and then get the hatches sorted.

I don't think so, dude. Anyway, I have a box full of them already  ;)

OK I know this is a bit boring - but here is more fun with the P96. This time it is driving the main hatches - for the side hatch and the lift and extend, the P96 were rigged up using the sequencing system. For the top hatch, they were driven off the same signal - the speeds were tweaked so they close in the right order - had to do this because if the hatches close in the wrong order they snag up on each other and don't shut. Also I cant open the hatches more than that because the guide wheels lift off and the thing snags up when they close. Possibly the inner ones should have been longer and the outer ones longer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGth5ImQTys

It is flagging up a few problems with the layout - can't open the main hatches unless the crane has been swung out of the way and will have to be careful to avoid colliding with the hatch when swinging the crane. But it all works apart from the raise and lower on the crane hook.

Seems to be turning into a bit of show case for ACTion - so far we have got:

1* P92 (possibly another one going in)
2* P93
1* P94
4* P95
5* P96

Next stage on the electronics is to build controller using 433MHz telemetry. ON the actual build is putting in the main passenger cabin

Wom

Things will go quiet again for a bit
