Twin bow thrusters, that lower and become twin azimuth thrusters? Good fabrication project for someone with the lathe skills.

Yes, I actually wanted to try retractable schottels.  %)
Some installation proposals showed them doubling as bow thrusters as in your renderings.


There is also the Schottel Steerable Pump Jet.
Graupner actually had a prototype at one point.
