Hi all it arrived today, and knowing Heller I managed to get my missus to let me check the sprues[/size] don't want the disappointment of the La Reale build with missing sprues. there are in excess of 35 sprues to this kit, it is mahoosive and no mistake. anyway here are some pics

Mine arrived on monday, but postie wouldn't bring it- too big for his car he said, I had to go and collect it. Tuesday went and collected it, yep had to slide it across the back seat wouldn't go in the boot unless I put the seats down!

So like you got it home and unpacked it, just to make sure it was all there. Good job I did as there was some internal damage. I am in email dispute with them over it now, there is only a 30 day warranty on returns, not that a chinese ebayer would honour that! I have mostly sorted it out now, tomorrow I have to give it a test drive to make sure it actually works. In the meantime I'll have to see if the replacement broken bit materialise - I'm not holding my breath!

Oh yes, its a laser cutter and engraver, its sure going to make cutting out parts a lot easier. It'll do acrylic, card, paper, plywood to 6mm and plasticard.

Wow what superb pressies you are getting for Christmas! I have asked for a tool box to put boating tools and spares etc in for taking to the pond.

I was going to ask for Ply and Lime strip for the Cochrane project but thought it would be more sensible to set myself up for the future in the hobby.

That Soleil kit will come out a treat Ken. I can see it in all its rigged glory. I hope that Heller have your name down on a list of customers for whom their kits are specially quality checked before despatch. (Though all kits should be perfect for despatch).

1. Yes
2. Ha, it's chinese, take your pick! Basics of it is they call them K40 lasers. A generic as I have seen 4 with the same external box but differing control panels. It's down to the software really, I did a bit of research and found I had to avoid any that were bundled with Moshidraw. I went for one that had Coreldraw/Laserdraw included. A 40watt CO2 laser alledgedly, but the forums say its more like 35. For another couple hundred pounds you can get an upgrade to 50watt, but I didn't need that sort of power (yet ;) )
