G'day all from down under my name is Gary Gillam  from Wollongong NSW Australia my main interests are live steam mainly 5" gauge
I was into model scale boats about 35 years ago I then found  model power boats & went down that path for about 5 years then the all to common club politics reared its ugly head so I sold every thing & got out at the time I was building a model 2 cylinder small steam engine being described in the model boat magazine  I think around 1983 , I completed the engine & decided to build a live steam loco which I did being a freelance model called a Simplex  then amongst other projects I started building a Victorian R-Class 4-6-4 this is a 10 year project of which I am having a brake from, the attached link is a log of the build so far if anyone is interested
I have re kindled my interest in model boats after a holiday to Echuca the home of Paddle steamers & talking to one of our live steam club members I am in the process of building a Murray River Paddle steamer live steam of course

Thanks for the welcome yes Roger it was Derek that inspired me to start building the paddle steamer I see him every Saturday at the local club another reason my interest in model boats was re kindled I was on holidays in the UK back in May & while at the Harrogate model engineering exhibition I saw all the model boats on display I was very impressed at the workmanship of the builders
,there was a scale barge completely made out of brass very detailed
