Just wanted to say that I love Bob models, And I noted his comment saying it was a shame that so few modellers build from scratch, I agree and I would like to add that it is a shame so few these days are interested in fine art, my 3D section gets a lot of visits, but anything with real paint on it seem to be avoided by most, Strange. I first came across very fine miniature work when I came across a book Shipbuilding in miniature by Donald McNarry in a library and bought myself a copy.
If you would like to see one of my models, scratch built go to my web page
www.artbymariodonk.com/pics/greedy.htm If your wondering about the strange name greedy it is because that page is also about how I made some prototype characters by that name for promotion of a children's book. But at the top of the page you will see the model and it sits in a sea carved from walnut wood, then painted with a little plasticine touch-up around the hull.
This is coming to you from Australia by the way.
