A word of caution
« on: December 21, 2015, 06:45:56 PM »

<*< Hi,guys, just a word of warning there is a person out there who uses a auction site and other model boat sites to sell items which he does not supply,he uses a few different names and addresses, some of the guys on other sites have lost hundreds of pounds to him over the last month,I hate bringing this up at this time of the year but the thought of another person having their Christmas spoilt by this crook so be careful out there,I have used Mayhem over the years and you guys are great for sales and buys, another good thing about Mayhem is the 25 post rule which must detour people like him from selling on here,so be careful when buying and parting with cash, use a secure payment system like paypal so that if there is any trouble getting your goods you can get your money back or some of it,anyway have a great Christmas and a wonderful new year sailing your model boats, once again sorry for bring this up but you guys are like a second family to me and don't want anyone to get stung...Ray. :-))

Apparently model was sold on a Facebook site and money sent,
Then same model sold on eBay 2 days later and paid for
neither have arrived or seller contactable.... Sounds familiar

Sound advice from  sparkey, if I can't pay by PayPal I just don't deal.
Surely something can be done to prosecute these scumbags, they just seem to be banned from eBay, then pop up again under a different guise, they never seem to be brought to book <*<

You can also pay via your credit card and if it fails your bank will get all your money back. O0 O0 O0

Paypal can also be problematic so have stopped using it.

Crooks everywhere, funny how easy payment for us seems to make it even easier for the criminals. Apart from smaller items, where one might accept possible non arrival after payment, I always used to insist on payment on collection. But - but then I heard of a person being mugged for the money when he arrived at the collection point, and of course the advertiser was never heard from again. Might be an idea to take a couple of ex SAS with you or at least the biggest angry looking dog you can get in your transport.

Anyway after that Have a Very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year.
