Star Wars - spoiler alert
« on: December 28, 2015, 03:10:00 AM »

With the rest of my Sci-Fi mad family I went to see the latest Star Wars film yesterday.
Most disappointed.  <:(
I cannot see why it has become so popular.   It appears that the "Writers" wrote all the plots and characters of the previous films, added some new names with the same attributes as the old characters onto pieces of paper, threw them in a bucket and picked them out at random.
Maybe the terms of the franchise said that they were not allowed to come up with any new ideas. >>:-(

Sounds like the same critique it received in the UK. I'm a fan but won't be watching it until it is released on blu ray, I would say it sticks to the general storyline. It might become boring but it seems like the scriptwriters look at previous outings and decided why change what sells well?

My 27 year old son, 11 year old grandson and his dad loved it. Target audience?

See it in 3D Martin.
As to "waiting" 'til it comes out on DVD / Blueray , these films are best seen on the big screen  , that's where their made for .
AVATAR had me ducking behind the seat when the spears came at you . . . .
It's obvious there's going to be another film the way it's ended , I hope they dont leave it another 30 years . . .
Common you guy's without the film industry there WONT be any DVD's . . .

Personally I really enjoyed it. Although it could have been a much better script, it's still a very good movie, and much better than the likes of Episode 1 etc.

I think perhaps it all depends on what you expect from it. I went in with a blank mind, rather than expecting something. A lot of people seem to be suggesting that it is a poor version of 'A new hope'. I agree it is quite similar, but it is also very different.

Anyway, pointless jabbering done. For those who are yet to see it, enjoy it.  :-))

Topic name modified to include 'spoiler alert'. We just had one potential spoiler. I am sure that others may creep in unintentionally.

Just got back from Florida!

We went to the special opening night at Disney Springs (Downtown Disney) and saw it at the AMC cinema there.

It's very good - but it felt like watching different levels of a video game.  %)
