Its a stealth takeover of Aussie waters. You think that pushing of their sovereign boundaries almost to the Phillipines was a bit far, the intention is not to stop until they encompass all waters down to the Antarctic :}

This is a very complex issue Brian60

1. this same Chinese contingent vessel group in October 2015 was welcomed & tied up to bollards of the 'Land of the Free'...yes the USA mainland

2. is not one of the Chinese vessels a re-flagged US built Oliver Perry Class FFG 4700 tonne Frigate?

3. in OZ, our Federal Politicians were too busy playing musical chairs to notice that our Northern Territory Government let the management of the Port of Darwin on a 99 year Lease to a Chinese owned consortia?  >>:-(

4. Darwin is also the port where vessels of the US Navy dock on a long term deal between our Governments......[this is probably why Mr Obama didn't see eye to eye with our current PM]

I can say no more.....  .. Derek

Showed them on local TV tonight, lots of armed bodies with automatic weapons featuring regularly and prominently in the telecast.

My son is going to take a run up the river on his jet ski to see how close he can get before being warned off.

China already owns a lot of Australia, thanks to politicians who are motivated by other than civic duty.

'China already owns a lot of Australia, thanks to politicians who are motivated by other than civic duty.'

So how is that different from all those modellers who buy their stuff direct from China instead of supporting local suppliers?

The reason that China has all the cash to splash is because people prefer to buy cheap rather than quality.

Actually I was just trying to be factual. Most things seem to come down to money in the end unfortunately, it isn't necessarily corrupt though.

Seems to me that China has bought up most of the world really %) Here in Spain the government did a massive deal with China quite a few years ago. The amount of chinese run shops and more along the coast than inline, chinese restaurants is unbelieveable. That deal?

It was a reciprocative arrangement, chinese come here and start a business with NO taxes (of any kind) to pay for the first 7 years, the same with Spanish setting up business in China. Of course it doesn't take an Einstein to understand that this is only a one way trip! After 7 years when tax becomes due, the Chinese either sell to another Chinese company starting the 7 year cycle again, or simply close down one outlet and open elsewhere.

I find it funny that chairman Mao wanted to rule the world with Communism. Sixty years on and they rule the world using capitalism against the capitalists :} :}   But if we benefit from cheaper goods who are we to complain? Last week we were down on the coast and dropped in to a chinese restaurant, had a lovely 3 course meal, came out totally stuffed for 10€ :D The quality of food in a spanish bar would have just been basic tapas slapped on a plate for this price.
