Hi All,
Done a bit more today.
Made templates for the deck, templates for the wheel house ( not sure if I like it), inserted the battery tray and attached the stern rubber fender holders.
Hopefully next week end I'll get the wood deck on and the electrics wired.

A cheap source of fine expanded metal mesh is on car and truck air cleaner elements. It's usually zinc plated so not really prone to rusting in a hurry.
I use it on my models, and if you check with your local car service centre you should get lucky.

Hi All,
Got the motors, ESC's and battery tray done. Also managed to get the deck on and the mock up of the wheel house ready to cut out this week and built the mast.

G'day D42

Further on the exhaust safety screens, as mentioned before, I use fine mesh off car air cleaner filter elements, or another source being some oil filter cartridges, but these need a good de-grease before use.

I also turn and bore thin brass discs to fit at each end of the screen which keeps them nice and tidy. You can either solder or glue the mesh to the discs, whichever suits you best.

Cut the mesh to the height you want, then roll it around a piece of rod of a smaller diameter than the finished diameter, and it will then clip onto the top and bottom discs. then you can trim any overlap and solder or glue the joints.

Likewise, she would look amazing surrounded by her brood of timber! I think your skegs are quite neat with that kink in them at the point the tubes pass through Great build Mr Destroyer.

Hi All,
Been a while since I posted some more photo's of my 2016 build. I have slowly been super detailing and still have a way to go, with cleaning up, painting and still more detailing.
I'm hoping her completed by the end of August 2016.
