Deans Marine Torpedo Boat Destroyer
« on: January 17, 2016, 02:52:56 pm »

Has anyone built the Deans Marine Torpedo Boat Destroyer PBD 39?

Any info as to battery pack sizes gratefully received...and any internal layout photos as well, please.

Hope these are of help

I use a single Ni-MH 1.2v 5000mAh battery pack which sits at the front. Bit over powered but looks lovely on the water.

Looks like you are on your penguin pad again by the photos
Did you mean 12 volts or a mini 1.2 v motor?  %)

Yes, blooming thing! It's a Deans Marine 4.8-12v Kondor motor powered by a 7.2v 5000mAh Ni-Mh battery.

Would anyone know if the TBD 39 is based upon an actual boat, or is it just a generic model? I can't seem to find any reference to a full size version..

Generic model of late Victorian TBD, built it about twenty years ago when Deans were selling off old stock, super model till some members of the Derby yobbery broke into my workshop and smashed my model to get the radio kit. Shall pop over to Peterborough and get one next week.

Sorry to hear of the sad demise of your TBD...evil little gits want their fingers removing. Slowly. With a blunt pair of pliers. One digit at a time.
