Here's one my co-worker survived with just a broken toe. His feet were up on the desk when they hit a washed out culvert and the rail came in through the window and out the roof of the cab.

We were waiting for our train on a day out (1993 I think) when the sound of a loco moving on the other side of the platform went from a growl to an earth shaking rumble.  It seems that the little used points were not quite as switched as they should have been, and it had tried to go both ways.  I had the same problem with Tri-ang.

Check out "Operation Smash Hit" from 1984.  A Class 46 loco and coaches (but only Second Class coaches) rammed into a nuclear waste container to test it's survivability.

Lord knows WHY this is in the Humour section as people not only lost their lives in train crashes let alone got hurt so in My Opinion this should be moved to the chit chat section and DEFINATLY not in Humour
