"Hello? - Yes sir, we've decided to send your cargo overland...."

Peter Fitness:
Do you know if she was successfully refloated? The "Pasha Bulker" created quite a stir here recently when she was washed ashore on a beach in Newcastle NSW, during a wild storm. She sat there for nearly 3 weeks, causing a sand spit to form near her, until she was finally pulled free on the 3rd attempt by 3 tugs. She suffered some creasing to her hull, and after some temporary patching, was towed to SE Asia for repairs. I think her master was in a great deal of trouble, as all ships waiting to load off Newcastle were advised to move further out to sea, but he ignored the advice. He had also pumped out the ballast water, with the result that her prop kept coming clear of the water in the rough seas, and she could not make headway against the gale force winds. A couple of photos off the Internet are attached.
