Car plan grey brushing Cellulose primer
« on: February 15, 2016, 06:26:43 pm »

Hi all, will the car plan cellulose primer be ok on my 47 Huntsman that I have been building over the last few weeks ? It rubs down well and I can paint anything over it, read on here it may not be waterproof? But if I use sanding sealer before the cellulose it may react, so maybe best to go straight on the wood with the primer, any thoughts?
Many thanks

Ok thanks, I will try that, see how it goes, I been reading through this forum and the primer onto wood seems a bit of an issue. I never worked with wood before, I always spray paint most of my fibre glass models so this brush painting and wood all new to me, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

spray car laquer on to bare wood....couple of coats....rub down dry 180 grit....same again...same again then primer with halfords yellow high build 400 dry then colour of your choice.....and yes it can be grey primer if you want as the laquer has sealed the wood........
