Spektrum DX6 TX(new type) and Orange RX
« on: February 29, 2016, 07:46:38 pm »

Hi all  :-)   I have used Spektrum DX6i TX sets with Orange RX's for a few years without problems.
I have now got the new DX6 and cannot get any of my Orange RX's to bind with it. The few Spektrum RX's I have bind without a problem.
Anyone had this problem and is there a solution.
Thanks

Hi. Think i've found my own answer in Google. Some European directive re guarding  radio systems. Seems the old systems were DSM2. The new are now DSMX. looks like a whole new batch of receivers needed.  :(( >>:-(

Hi, yes your new dx6 will have a black X in the logo,
this denotes the new DSMX system similar to DSM2 but has better interference protection, wont get involved in i.t. jargon
best visit Horizon hobby uk website or Spektrum website for more details.
The 2 channel marine rec MR200 is compatible and the aero ar400 but must show the "BLACK X"  :-)) on the casing.

Hope this helps,

Gary.

Thanks Gary. Another question, does this mean any make DSMX receiver "should" work with any DSMX transmitter. Are they starting to standardise sytems as  what happened with most  27 then 40 Meg.

earlier dx6i was dsm2 only. Then came a couple of cross over transmitters, such as dx8, which is compatible to dsm2 and dsmx, then later such as new dx6i is the later technology which is dsmx.

If recently bought, try contacting the vendor see if you can get a swop. Its the exact reason I just got a second hand dx8 at xmas, so I could retain all my orange dsmx receivers. Also, genuine spectrum dsm2 receivers are popping up quite cheap as the likes of rc helicopter and fixed wing guys swop over to DSMX. Look on bmfa classified website and other reputable selling forums so you can trust the sellers, some bargains come up
