Action P102 DB
« on: April 13, 2016, 12:24:47 pm »

What do the red LEDs on a P102 DB tell me ,trying to fault find Noisey Thing not working ,looking on th DB there are only 2red LEDs on ,that is the one on its own and the one nearest to it .
All the 3  fuses are good.
Thank you .

Test to see if there's a voltage at each of the output terminals T2 to T6. If not then either the controlling fuse has gone (although you might not be able to see the break) or that there is an open circuit belonging to that LED and resistor branch elsewhere.
You can connect P101 Amplifier directly to the battery if you like; P100 is only connected to the ESC (via the 3-pin socket); the receiver (3-pin plug) and the P101 (two wires from the screw terminals on the end).

The three LED's indicate that there is power to the three groups of the power distribution board.  Group 1 is the BEC and Terminal Block 1, group two is Terminal blocks 2and 3 and group 3 is terminal blocks 4 and 5.

Action P102 DB Fairmount Alpine / P 93 version 3
Well the car is sorted £275 later , now back to the boat . Well you were right yet again Dave it was the fuse .
This is the action taken ,disconnect T5&T6 fit new fuse ,switch on all ok .
Switch off .
Connect T6 feed to amp and decoder  ,switch on , all ok .
Switch off.
Connect T5 feed to P93. Switch on fuse blows , switch off .
Disconnect T5 fit new fuse ,switch on ,OK . Switch off.
Disconnect feed to bow thruster after P93 . Switch on .Fuse blows .
This to me points to the P93 as a source of my problem
Remove P93, removed cover . No damage visible ,no smell.
Check heat sinks ,not touching ,OK .
Looking at the diagram on the P 93 for bow thruster, just to confirm set to mode 6 ,7.2 v out to thruster .
This is where I am not sure of the  connection if I have it right , as I understand the diagram the two centre go to the thruster ,it will not matter which way round thy go that why it's in yellow  .
Is there any test that I can do to fault find , I only have a multimeter.
Thanks for the help

David
P93 sounds faulty. Send to me for check and repair. I recommend using Mode 2 for bow thruster (50% ESC) when you have a 12v input. Mode 6 is just an on/off switch with a 7.2v output and can "shock" the thruster paddle when it kicks in.

Thank you Dave for the help , I will  check all the connections again ,there is a chance that I have overlooked something  or it might be a stray hairy wire .i will set both P 93 to mode 2 and try again .
Thank you again
