Blimey, well reminded, my dad built me that in 1969 although without the vane steering and I still have the boat. So I think I will add the vane gear for next years mayhem, I have have also decided what I am going to build (scaled up a little) it will be guess the boat during the build log  :-)) :-))

Replicas of classic vintage builds sounds interesting, but what really lights my boilers is imagining an even larger battle squadron of six foot plus battleships.  There should be two Agincourt's on the water next year to add to that awesome line ahead column.  Plus, I know that Nick is building a famous battlecruiser from an extended Dreadnaught hull.  We may even get to see more ships with simulated broadsides ?

That long line of mega ships was my highlight of Wicksteed, something you will not see at your local pond.

B-Liner was a Vic Smeed design Phil I built one and funny enough it's still in my parents loft l think with a more powerful motor than a Monoperm I think it will be a lot more of a successful boat.

After 2 years away I finally have all the stars aligned and the diary allows us to return to Wicksteed in 2018. We also now have a caravan so will there be the camping arrangements available in previous years for those with tin tents or shall I book a local site? Want to get it booked up quickly then she can't change her mind  <*<

Well 2018 is here. So happy new year to you all.
I hope you are all on your builds, GG, vic smeed or the secret 10!
For those camping, its time to start dusting off the cobwebs from the equipment.
For all others its time to just dust off the cobwebs!
Nick and Steve are brewing Sloe gin, the scottish contingent will be doing there own thing as usual....and i do not want to think what Steamboat Phil is bringing after last years sampling!
As usual fish and chips on friday night and the BBQ on Saturday for those camping.
Free tea and coffee all weekend (donations always welcome in the box!)
Great sailing weather promised....just not sure by who! But we have had 2 good years on the trot now.
As usual free entry but WP charge for parking. Im sure once Nick is back he will fill in more relevant details.
As previous years car parking within 100 yards of the lake, if you need help getting boats to the lake please ask on the day.

Ps. On a side note for the BBQ, you bring the food and i will cook it. Anyone want to be more adventurous than sausages and burgers, and Stepanie that DOES NOT MEAN GREEN STUFF!
But i can conceed to stuffed peppers, filled garlic mushrooms, grilled haloumi, salmon fillets, etc etc

I aim to be there for both days, arriving Friday evening.  I think I got my tiny tent figured out from last year.
Best event on the calendar IMHO   :-))

If anyone remembers Ron surprising me with a giant hull, and then loading it with 29Kg of lead, I am aiming to bring the full working ship this time.  Automatic turret bearing control and gun fire smoke included.  Yes, a 2.2 metre ship can fit in a tiny car  %%

Here's a simple Vic Smeed design whose plans have been updated to show a modern motor and radio installation. PM me for further details if you wish.
