I'm going to check my van out tomorrow for a safe space. If I can be happy that I can carry it without damage on a 10 day trip She'll be along largely assembled.

Campsite update

If you haven’t booked yet because of my last post regarding the telephone and network problems within the park I’m pleased to inform you that everything is up and running again.

Use the telephone number 01536 512475, choose option 1 then option 2 (follow the camping line of inquiry)
State that you are camping with the ‘Model Boat Mayhem’ at the beginning of the conversation, some of the new receptionists aren’t fully conversed with the discount system on the computers and will need assistance from Laura, please be patient with them.
I’ve just booked my place and it all works well, I usually visit the desk to book my place but I’d thought I’d check the system works.
Any problems give me a message and I’ll sort things out for you. :-))

See you there!

Just booked two of us in. Bit further than would normally travel but it sounds as though it might be fun. Fingers crossed. Not sure I got the discount even though I stated that it was for the model boat mayhem weekend, but seeing though I have no idea what prices to expect, or what the discount was, I'm happy.
Hope to be there Friday midday.

Hi Klunk

That’s something I’m trying to do for next year too, get the campsite fee down even further. Probably have to sell my soul or something like it but I’ll get it sorted to get an even better deal now I’ve got better contacts in the park available to talk to. I hope to get it down to some more reasonable. I’ll keep you updated when I get more information but unfortunately not for this year’s weekend.

Looking forward to next weekend though and seeing everyone again :-))
Two of the four boats tested and ready to go!

Some information update

Please share to all you know are going to the Mayhem weekend.

Please be aware if you intend to arrive before 10am on the Saturday morning you will see a large group of runners around the park grounds. Don’t worry about them, the organisers are aware of our event and the park management request the following rules apply when interacting with them:

Please drive at walking speed
Please keep to the right hand side of the road
And finally please be patient

They will be finished by 10am but we have to mention to all the early arrivers about the runners. The finishing line is in the same field as our car park but they will be further up the fielding by the time most people will arrive in the park only the stragglers will be left running!

For those not familiar with the park layout, to get to the lake car park follow the only road around until you see the campsite on your right side. Don’t take the road ahead either but turn left on to the tarmac road and follow it and you’ll see the car park on the grass. Please do not cross the railway line with your car unless directed by the park’s staff.
If you struggle to follow my ramblings there will be signs similar to the one below with arrows showing the way.

Well spent the weekend putting everything together (and in one case taking it apart and putting it back together) now starting with the camping gear... %%  making sure I have space for the now famous Mayhem tea urn, and maybe a bottle of our local Normandy hooch O0
And this year I will be bringing up a fellow straight runner (its his first mayhem...be kind) so we can show you how its really done  {-) {-) {-)

It's not really properly packed until at least the third go  O0 and when you've finished you immediately remember something you left inside the house for safe keeping! Aaaah!

I will be bringing my tool box so if anyone breaks something or need running repairs etc.
I will also have a selection of 27 and 40 meg TX's for free, no receivers i'm afraid. come see me.
Hopefully the tea urn will be fired up early Saturday for a great weekend start.
Has Martin bought a new shirt??????
Will Stavros wear a dress????
