Well what can I say, another brilliant Mayhem weekend. Steamboat apprentice and I had a great time catching up with old friends (sic)and making many new new ones (taranis, MartinL and many more). Too many highlights this year to single out, but AndyN and Richard with there hooligan boats, Bob K and his ongoing super large project for fitting a boat into a super small car and Steve with his large Lifeboat ready for the Windermere challenge next year, to name but a few.
We had a great time with the straight running boats, and I even scored a bull with my new steamboat...yes I also had a witness. :} :}
Of course the biggest thanks as always (I know it has been mentioned before, but its worth repeating) to the highly colourful shirt with Martin inside , Ruth and Gina for the endless tea and coffee for all (how do they do it) and of course the bacon butties Sunday morning  O0 O0  you are true stars.
Klunk for loaning AndyN a pair of waders with hole in the most embarrassing place and as always being on hand for just about everything, but of course none of this would have possible without the fantastic help and support and many other things from Nick and Steve and the Wicksteed club, a big thank you from all Mayhems  :-)) :-))

A truly great 12th Mayhem, here is to the next one in 2020 as has been mentioned we have some great additional ideas for the next one, details to follow  O0 O0

Bri, Davey, Ron, Colin you were missed...we still drank pish in your memory though.......see you next year  :}

Sadly no, but watch this space for next year, you would have done well at the straight running this year Larry with the "B-Liner"  :-))  (as long as you wouldn't have beaten me  O0 )

I am putting together a report for Model Boats magazine although the space available won't do justice to the huge variety of models.

Can anyone give me info on this delightful little cruiser?

Thanks,

Colin

Hi Colin

It’s HMS Pelorus by David Viewing built to 1/96 scale on a Dean’s Marine hull of HMS Pegasus (sisterships).

Hope this helps.

I’ll send some pictures of the different boats that came on the Sunday to you if you like.
Regards

That's great Nick, thanks a lot. I thought it was a Deans hull but couldn't immediately identify it.

The problem with the magazine is to do justice to the huge number of boats present in the space available. I have told Martyn that I will focus on those which particularly interested me and caught my eye. I said you might be sending him some additional photos covering the Sunday so perhaps the best thing would be for you to send them direct to Martyn so he can run a joint report (and we can split the proceeds!)

Saturday was a very enjoyable day.

Cheers,

Colin

No problem Colin

I don’t have many different ones, I’ll send them in just in case with some information. I’ve already been asked by Martyn to write another article series so I’ll politely decline sharing the proceeds as it’s your article and I’m still learning the way of article writing! Although it’s very nice of you to offer.
I enjoyed our chats over the Saturday and appreciated your input and advice.
Cheers

Steve (our club's cameraman) paid a visit Sunday and has produced a video of stuff he took, and some from footage from Saturday. Enjoy!
