There is an alternative to new TG....
Jim.

There certainly is...it's called an 'on/off button'.

I dunno. First Cameron, then Bojo, then Nigefarge - now The Big Red Gob. Must be something in the air.

Are you sniffing it yet, Jezza?   %)

I read somewhere today that the US version has been cancelled.
As to the UK one ... if they move it a little bit further away from the CMH format, then with the current presenter's (less CE of course) I think there might be life in it still.

Allow me to attempt a translation for you, Jim:

I think "Jezza" in this case refers to Clarkson, who is a Tory supporter and allegedly has other unpleasant personal habits (hence the *******). Mr Cook doesn't think that thumping a production assistant over a small matter like cooked food could be described as reasonable and so he should not be invited to return to host the program.

As an example of correct grammar, syntax and punctuation it certainly wasn't one of the best (more like throwing Scrabble tiles up in the air and writing down what they say when they land), but I have seen worse on Internet forums... 8)

Bon voyage, Mr Evans! Now you have more time to spend with your money, your ego and your Ferrari collection.

Thank you for the translation Dave.

I had been listening to the news and politics programs all weekend and Jeremy Corbyn has been referred to by many through out some programs as Jezzer and I wondered what Jeremy Corbyn had to do with Top Gear, unless he fancies the job when he leaves the one he has at the moment.

It's quite simple really. Jeremy Clarkson as Prime Minister, Roy Hodgson to run the Labour Party, Chris Evans to take over UKIP, Boris Johnson as England Football Manager and David Cameron for Top Gear. That just leaves Jeremy Corbin. Any Ideas?

Steady on, chaps! This is creeping inexorably towards politics and we don't want to spoil a perfectly good model boat forum with ordure like that.

The consensus seems to be that The Great Ginger Gob doesn't need replacing and that the current team can do better without an obvious front man. I might even be tempted back (as long as Liz is out of the house, that is....)  :o

O - and put The Stig back in the dump.

We could replace Matt LeBlanc with Jensen Button.  Now that would be a really good line up.

I would replace Matt LeBlanc with someone who knew something about the subject they were talking about instead of clearly reading it from an autocue. %%

I would replace the whole silly programme with something of more interest, like model boats.  I am sure we could find many genuinely interesting and authoritative experts to bring the subject alive for the general public.

Suggestions please  O0

Despite what I said above I think it's probably time to acknowledge that Top Gear WAS Clarkson, May and Hammond and that the cars were of secondary importance. Take away the three of them and you have nothing left except a procession of eye-wateringly expensive cars, a dumb geezer in a full-face racing helmet and an empty airfield. Retaining the same old format and just changing the faces will eventually result in something along the lines of 'Last of the Summer Wine on Wheels'.
Kill it before another series is commissioned; send Matt Blancmange back to the USA and let's have some original thought.  O0
