for my sons first boat 24 inch fairly swordsman..we have the plans in PDFs format

The "Mad Museum" in Stratford on Avon has a laser cutting machine the use for there projects , when I was in there thy said thy would do comissions . It could be worth a visit .
It's a good place to go just to see all he Heath Robinson machines working .

If it's the one I designed then use the recommended material (2mm and 3mm Liteply from SLEC) and you won't need a laser or CNC mill. It cuts like hard balsa but without the tendency to wander with the grain. I use one of those box-cutter knives with snap-off blades for the job.
If you've not yet spotted it there's an excellent build-log by my old mate Bluebird (John Elsy) elsewhere on this forum.
