212,
How you choose to fit out the kit is up to you therefore you control the expense.
But if you buy another kit wont you have exactly the same expense?
The idea of a hobby IS that time is for free. You choose to use your time in this way.
As has been stated before if you don't want water on the after deck choose a hull with a higher freeboard, again that is your choice.
The reason Tug Kenny's sinking is amusing is that the kit is well founded and it is an extremely rare occurrence and of course Kenny took it in good heart.
How do I know, I was there when it happened.
In my opinion you might do a little more research into the type of vessel you want to build.
You do seem a rather inexperienced modeller to be making such sweeping statements about a kit you know very little of.
You happily ignore the plaudits of this company to continue with your view at all costs.
I hope you find a suitable model to make. Your comments about a submarine are not well received, as previously stated, those that have actually built the products from Model Slipway continue to praise the quality.
How you spend your money is of course up to yourself, but you do come across as a very uninformed, opinionated modeller and I hope you make a good choice of your next model.
